Bobby Lee's journey into the world of judo began at the age of 6 when he joined Liberty Bell Judo Club in Philadelphia, PA. His early initiation into the sport ignited a passion that would shape his life. As a cadet competitor, Bobby's dedication and exceptional results led him to Kiitsusai National Training Center in Coconut Creek, FL, in 2004. There he refined his skills with the help of seasoned coaches, German Velazco and Jhonny Prado.

The turning point in Bobby's career came in 2006, a pivotal year that saw him achieve remarkable success. At the age of 18, he secured victories at the Senior and Junior US Open championships, as well as the Junior Pan American championship.

In 2008, Bobby embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Pedro’s National Training Center in Wakefield, MA, overseen by Jimmy Pedro and Jim Pedro Sr. At just 19 years old, he clinched the Senior National Title and was able to compete at the Olympic trials held in Las Vegas, NV, a testament to his determination and skill on the judo mat.

Throughout his career, Bobby proudly represented the USA Judo National team as a Cadet, Junior, and Senior competitor. He was also a valued member of the U23 national team, sharing the mat with some of the greatest judoka in American history, including legends like Ronda Rousey, Kayla Harrison, and Travis Stevens.

In 2016, Bobby extended his training to Colorado Springs, CO and was coached by Eddie Liddie at the Olympic Training Center. This phase of his career culminated in a thoughtful decision to retire in 2017. The values of dedication, triumphs, and profound impact he learned during his judo journey continue to resonate with him to this day, shaping his character and influencing the way he carries himself.
